Group Therapy

Group Therapy for Connection and Growth

At Therapy With a Dog, group therapy offers a space to share, reflect, and connect with others who get it. While individual therapy focuses inward, group therapy invites you into community—where healing happens through shared stories, understanding, and support.

This January, I’ll be co-facilitating the Food, Body, and Self Support Group, an 8-week virtual process group for young adults exploring their relationships with food, body, and self-worth.

About the Group

In this small, supportive group, we’ll talk openly about body image, identity, and the pressures that shape how we see ourselves. Each week begins with a theme to guide reflection and dialogue, followed by space for authentic conversation and connection.

This is not a skills-based group, but a relational and experiential space—a place to be seen, heard, and supported by others on similar journeys.

What to Expect

  • Mondays at 7:00 PM (Virtual)

  • 8-week series beginning January 12, 2026

  • Co-facilitated by Gavyn Pellicori, LCSW and Amy Syper, PhD

  • Open to young adults across Colorado (18 - 25 yrs old)

Why Choose Group Therapy

Research shows that connection is one of the most powerful tools for change. Group therapy helps reduce shame, build community, and deepen insight through shared experiences. While Graham (my therapy dog) won’t join virtual groups, the same principles of compassion, presence, and nonjudgmental support guide every session.
