FAQ’s
-
What can I expect in my first session?
Your first session is an opportunity to share what brings you to therapy, discuss your goals, and begin building a therapeutic relationship. We’ll also review policies, answer questions, and outline a plan moving forward.
-
Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?
I offer both! In-person sessions take place at my office in Denver, and I also provide secure telehealth sessions for clients in Colorado. My office is located in the Lola & Me Therapy Suite at 2727 Bryant St Suite 610 Denver CO.
-
Will the therapy dog, Graham, be in every session?
Yes! Graham, my certified therapy dog, is present in most sessions to provide comfort, emotional support, and a calming presence.
-
Do you accept insurance?
I am currently in the process of becoming in-network with Aetna. Credentialing can take one to several months. Until then, sessions are considered self-pay, but you may be able to use out-of-network benefits.
-
Can I use out-of-network benefits?
Yes! Many clients use their out-of-network mental health benefits to receive partial reimbursement. You’ll pay for sessions upfront, and I can provide a superbill to submit to your insurance.
-
What is a superbill?
A superbill is a detailed invoice that includes all the necessary information for your insurance provider to process an out-of-network claim. I’ll provide this to you upon request.
-
Do you accept HSA or FSA cards?
Yes, Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) are accepted forms of payment.
-
What is your cancellation policy?
Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice (except for emergencies) will be charged the full session fee. Insurance does not cover missed or late-canceled appointments.
-
Do you offer sliding scale rates?
Yes! I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots to help make therapy more accessible. If you are interested in a sliding scale rate, please let me know so we can discuss availability. If all spots are currently filled, I’m happy to place you on a waitlist or provide referrals to community resources.
-
Do you specialize in certain areas?
Yes. I specialize in treating eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, ADHD, and family-related challenges. My approach integrates evidence-based modalities with the healing benefits of animal-assisted therapy.
-
Do you work with children and teens?
