At Therapy with a Dog, I believe therapy should be accessible, transparent, and tailored to your needs. Below you’ll find information about session rates and insurance options.
Insurance and Payment
Self-Pay
Individual Therapy (50 minutes): $165
Family Therapy (50 minutes): $200
Family Intensives: Pricing varies depending on the individualized treatment plan. Please contact me to discuss your needs and receive a personalized estimate.
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept all major credit/debit cards and HSA/FSA cards.
I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots to make therapy more accessible. If you are seeking a reduced rate, please let me know, and we can discuss current availability.
Insurance
I am currently in the process of credentialing with Aetna and anticipate being in-network soon. The credentialing process can take one to several months, and I will update this page as soon as I am fully in-network.
If you would like to begin therapy before my credentialing is complete, you have the option to:
Self-pay at the rates listed, or
Use out-of-network benefits if your insurance plan provides them (you may be able to submit a “superbill” to your insurance for potential reimbursement).
Out of Network Benefits
If I am not in-network with your insurance plan, you may still be able to receive partial reimbursement through your out-of-network (OON) benefits.
Here’s how to check:
Call your insurance provider (the number is usually on the back of your card).
Ask:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What percentage of the session fee will be reimbursed?
Is there an out-of-network deductible I must meet first?
Where do I send claims?
If you have OON coverage, you would pay for sessions upfront and then submit documentation to your insurance for reimbursement.
Good Faith Estimate (No Surprises Act)
Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers are required by law to give self-pay clients an estimate of expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) for the total expected cost of any non-emergency services. This includes related costs such as therapy session fees.
You will receive a GFE in writing at least 1 business day before your first scheduled service or upon request.
If you receive a bill that is $400 or more than your GFE, you may be able to dispute the bill.
Keep a copy of your estimate for your records.
